Zulfia Abawe is a Doctoral Candidate in the Law and Democracy Program in the Center for Constitutional Democracy at Indiana University. As part of her PhD dissertation, she is focusing on Legal Pluralism and Gender Justice in Afghanistan with an aim to design a constitutionally informed model of legal pluralism that does not exclude women. As a passionate researcher, learner and explorer, she studied, worked and travelled to over eighteen countries across the globe. With an interest in legal and political analysis, she recently completed a high-level research project for the Violence Prevention Unit-Wales where she worked closely with various stakeholders in the justice, education, government, and voluntary sector in Wales to map interventions that prevent youth violence in Wales. She sees herself as an accomplished academic in the future where she could contribute to and change people’s lives through education.
